Core77 is one of the longest-running and most respected online publications in industrial and product design, with a dedicated global readership of designers, educators, and students.
I have been contributing to Core 77 as a freelance design journalist for over a decade, covering design-relevant topics from artisanal paper production in Bhutan to new trends and technologies at London Design Festival, designer studio visits in Cologne and Bogotá, or the Burning Man festival in Nevada, with tens of thousands of views per article.
A recent collaboration, Design Postcards, explores new additional video formats to tell stories about design from across the world and the user experience of travel.
All articles and galleries in full can be found here.

The paper made in Bhutan is based on unique materials of the Himalaya, the bark of the The Daphne Papyri, which can be found at altitudes of 3,000 feet and above, the bark of the Edgeworthia Papyri, plus various additional ingredients like flowers and leaves (for example from the ubiquitous chili and hemp plants), to add textures and patterns.

Inspired by Perrier-Jouët's connection to the Art Nouveau movement and the traditional use of insect motifs throughout this period, the Austrian design duo mischer'traxler has created an interactive installation of 250 mouth-blown glass globes made by the Viennese glass company Lobmeyr.
48 things designers can learn at Burning Man, Nevada, USA

The photo gallery was a collection of what designers can learn just by immersing themselves in Black Rock City and its surroundings – the art, the playa, the vehicles, the camps, the costumes, and the nature of the desert itself. The example shows a photo of an open layerd tent structure in a camp.
How to design for local conditions: This camp structure is built for providing maximum protection from the sun, whilst leaving enough space for the wind to pass through. In addition, it creates a beautiful play of light and shadow.
