FATMAP was the first global app and web platform to make extraordinary outdoor places more accessible for planning and discovering routes, navigating on the day, and then recording and sharing adventures with the community.
“An app that will revolutionise your backcountry freeriding experience” – Red Bull
As a certified former ski- and snowboard instructor, I was extremely excited by the combination of my personal and professional passions:
Route-finding and navigation on 3D terrain and visionary digital product design.
I joined as Product Design Lead and was involved from the product design of the first global mobile and web app, to user testing on the mountain and online, to visual brand and design systems, print, merch and interior design of the office spaces, working in London, Berlin and Chamonix.
I am proud to have been involved in the development of an app that has changed the way I and other mountain enthusiasts discover new adventures. I am also proud that Fatmap was sold to Strava, making it the first startup exit to Silicon Valley that I have been a part of.

As one of my first tasks, I redesigned the Fatmap logo system to be more impactful and work modularly and to pixel-perfection across all sizes and use-cases.

Product vision

Example visualisation of potential future features and integrations. Product visions were designed as visual concepts and interactive prototypes, including 2D UI, data visualizations and 3D map systems. I also led the validation via user testing, synthesis of testing results and summary into actionable next steps.
